That's right, folks! I've finally graduated with my MBA, and boy am I looking forward to a new adventure in curious Asia!
My plane leaves tomorrow morning at 9:00am and I just began packing.. I would've started earlier, but just as I was cutting the tags off of my newly purchased spinner suitcase, I saw some crazy California prop 65 warning saying the chemicals used in making my suitcase may cause cancer! Well, cripes! I took that baby back right away! Now that I've purchased a chemical-free Samsonite that rolls with ease by my side (a key feature in a roller carry-on), I'm all set to pack.
I'm a little surprised at how minimal I've become. I use to pack a humungo suitcase for a week-long trip to California, and now I can't even manage to fill my carry-on roller for a three-week trip to Asia. I swear to you, my toiletries take up more than my clothes. What did India do to me?! I actually decided to add an extra t-shirt and a bra just so I felt like I filled up my suitcase at least half-way (yeah, not kidding).
I have the essentials though. Based on the predicaments that came about in India, namely the three-month long case of the Big D that my honeybunches had to endure, I've packed a solid supply of fiber and protein bars and Pepto Bismol.
I'm so excited to see what China, Vietnam, and Cambodia are like! I've been brushing up on my Chinese... I know how to order radish pickled in soy sauce (jiang luobo) and minced dried tofu with wild mushrooms (malari tou). I know.. I was looking up some restaurant menus... perhaps not the best use of my time. I've got XieXie down pat though and I plan on reviewing an accelerated version of Pammi Stone tonight.
Off to packing again!
First Stop: Shanghai, China!
